Candy Brownie Crunch

This will require an extra step, so you could do this one in the evening and start by putting in your candy bars (Almond Snickers) in the fridge first thing in the morning. In order to have a crunchy brownie we’ll need to bake the candy bars cold, or it’ll be more like Candy Brownie mush. To make it a bit easier, we’re going to cheat just a bit and use a boxed brownie mix (unless you have your own brownie recipe that you just can’t stray from, by all means go for it). Personally, I’m a fan of Ghirardelli Double Chocolate but we all have our favorites. So, for this recipe I’m going to use this mix’s guidelines below.

Did you know? Snickers is THE #1 selling Candy Bar worldwide?
Back in 1930, Frank Mars named this confectionary nougaty dream, after his beloved horse Snickers. Of horse he did. Not to mention, the farm itself was named Milky Way. Having no idea this candy bar would change history and be the best-selling candy bar, literally in the entire Milky Way, but over the years 40 variations of the snickers bar have been marketed worldwide with Mars packing 100 tons of peanuts into 15M Snickers bars every single day. A similar recipe called a “Marathon Bar” in the United Kingdom, discontinued back in 1981 but later renamed as Snickers to keep up with the global market. Cool Huh?

Here’s what you’ll need:

Oven preheated to 325 degrees F.
Baking Pan (8x8 metal/glass, or 9x9 metal)
Brownie mix (of your choice)
¼ cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil (no this does not come from your refrigerated vegetables)
1 egg (from a chicken)
Snackshop.com Almond Snickers 1.76 oz refrigerated (we’ll need a few of these, depending on how crunchy you’ll want your brownies)
Mixing bowl
Rubber spatula

Our oven has been preheated, let’s take the snickers bars out of the fridge and grease our pan.
To start mixing the brownies, combine the water, vegetable oil, and the lonely chicken egg.
Add the brownie mix (whisk, or whatever you think), and combine until all the clumps are gone
Start choppin’ our chilled Snickers candy bars into mini crumbled pieces. You can also use a food processer if you have one, but not all of us are that fancy.
Stir in our Snickers pieces into the brownie mix and pour into the pre-greased pan and smooth out the top.
Once the oven has let you know it’s ready to go, we’ll set the timer for 39-43 min (8x8 metal), 43-48 min (8x8 glass), or 39-43 min (9x9 metal) pan.
Let cool and dig into these ooey-gooey crunchy brownie bars.
**Caution: “You’re Not You When You’re Hungry” - I will warn you; your belly may not be prepared for this satisfying treat you’re about to inhale. Brownie Points if you can eat the whole pan in one sitting.
