Cereal, marshmallows, peanut butter, peanut butter pieces, and butter. What else could you ever need in your life?

Have a nut allergy? You can eliminate the peanut butter goods altogether! (These are just for us who are a little nutty)

Did you know? Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Cereal hit store shelves back in the 1930s as a moderate success. Kellogg employee Mildred Day, invented the Rice Krispies treat for a Camp Fire Girls fundraiser. Previously made with molasses and corn syrup instead of marshmallows, appearing on the Rice Krispies packages in 1932. Mildred left the company in 1936, and the Krispies Marshmallow squares recipe landed on the packages in 1940; credit to the Home Economics Department as a whole.

These are an easy, quick, party favorite that will all be gone before you have a chance to eat any!

Here is what you’ll need:

Microwavable mixing bowl
Rice Krispies cereal (enough to fill 6 cups)
1/2 cup Peanut butter (hold the jelly)
16 oz Marshmallows (Plain Large or mini, doesn’t matter)
1 Stick of Unsalted butter (we don’t want to be salty)
16 oz Mini marshmallows (these must be mini mellows, you’ll use these second)
Snackshop.com 6 oz Reese’s Pieces
Holiday Sprinkles (believe in the magic)

In a microwaveable bowl, melt the following:

1 bag of large or mini marshmallows
4 tbs of unsalted butter
½ cup of peanut butter

Heat for about a minute, stir, repeat until it’s all gooey and melty; start adding the cereal (slowly). Stir until all mixed evenly and all the Rice Krispies have been coated. If you want a creamier treat, you won’t use the full 6 cups…you’ll see what I mean. If you’re not into the creamy dreamy business, by all means please add them all.
Now that we have the base whipped up and whipped up good, add those mini marshmallows, Reese’s Pieces, and sprinkles, maybe even some green or red food coloring, whatever you feel is most ‘reindeer-esque’- go wild.

Spray your 9 x 13 pan and scoop the Reindeer goup right in with a spoon or rubber spatula, and even out the top so you have a nice clean flat surface to cut out your heavenly heaping’s of holiday treats.

For you overachievers out there to add some extra ‘oomf’  – bring out your holiday cookie cutters, and drizzle some frosting for the utmost festive display.
***Disclaimer – I would not let any family members know you’ve created such triumphant delights, until you yourself have had some bites***
